Participating in the Sherre Newell Memorial Tournament is a truly uplifting experience that beautifully blends the joy of sport with the power of community and remembrance. There is a special kind of magic in spending a sun-drenched day on the green, surrounded by friends and fellow golfers who are all united by a shared purpose: honoring Sherri’s lasting legacy. Every swing and every putt carries a deeper meaning, turning a simple game of golf into a vibrant celebration of life and a collective effort to support a meaningful cause. Between the lighthearted camaraderie on the fairways and the heartfelt stories shared at the clubhouse, the atmosphere is charged with a warmth and positivity that stays with you long after the final hole is played.

WICC is so grateful to the Sherre Newell Memorial Tournament (Previously LICC) for supporting our cause.  The success of this golf tournament is a significant reason for WICC’s ability to continue to support Cancer research in Alberta.  In 2025, LICC contributed almost 30% of our donation to the CCS of $250,000. 100% of this money stays in Alberta to fund research.
